So after almost a decade of running BES, my little clothing company, I've decided to sell it off to a good friend in hopes of him acheiving greater things with it. Was I able to acheive great things with it? I think so. I mean this was all started in the name of friendship and community. It was something for my friends and myself to have part in and create. Over the years it grew and grew one baby step at a time. I met some amazing people because of what I created. I was able to go on the road and live off my product and in many respects "lived the dream" at the same time. When things were good they were good. One of my proudest moments was attending the POOL trade show at Magic in Vegas and selling my line to companies all over the world. Canada-Manhattan-Germany!
The after parties...the models...the fashion shows...man what a party. It really was. When things were bad...they were bad! Accounts owing us money...wasted sales reps..so on and so on. But maybe the "bad" was actually not so bad either.
Probably the best part was being able to work with the artist. From our lettering dude, DOSE, he's now enjoying international recognition and of course, Aaron Coleman, my big brother who I think is the most amazing artist I've ever met. BES was always about the art first. I hope that will continue.
A big thank you to our first two accounts Cowtown Skateboards and GO Kat GO who stood by us and us by them. You have been amazing.
So thanks to everyone who supported and loved BES just as much as I did. That party's over for me. But where one ends...another one always starts again.
Like my buddy Bill from the Lost Dutchman Motorcycle Club likes to say... Party on.
